Hey Vaughn, you're a neighbor! I am in Stockton, how about you?
I "transplanted" from Brookdale, a smal community between Boulder Creek and Ben Lomond, as well as a native of the State and have travelled all over the Sierras where all these fires have been, and will be.
It is disheartening that the Government has allowed this to happen with Sierra Club protesters leading a non logging practice, along with environmental additions to burning bans to eliminate the undergrowth.
I have acreage up near Oroville where a fire is now, and have pretty much "hogged out" the fire fuels, along with trimming up the canopy to 12-14 feet above the soil line, burning the piles in the rain during winter. I hope my work proves helpful if the fire reaches my land.
It is more difficult to burn now however, even under "agricultural purpose" with an extended fire season, and air quality constraints, while landfill areas charge you for bringing it to them, and then they charge you for the mulch. Something is wrong on that part.
Hope all are wise in the meanwhile, and take heed of the evac orders in Cal and Oregon, life is sacred, belongings are "stuff".
