i have a C91931 trans in my truck (57 flat fender).. i still have a noise in it and it gets worse when you push on the stick once its in gear.. this trans has straight gears.. i have another trans C38126 that looks the same but has helical cut gears.. these 2 transmissions have the overhang in the top cover towards the front.. will this helical cut trans fit where the other trans is.. i would just go ahead and try it and no big deal if it dont but i want to have it freshened up and looked at and dont want to spend the money if it won't.. i would prefer the helical trans as i have a PTO for that on as well and heard they are a little quieter..it must be a misfit truck..
