I'll probably get some flak from the Dodge Boys, but I have installed electric fuel pumps as close to the fuel tanks as possible in my 1949 Power Wagon and my 1967 Scout. These are in addition to the original mechanical fuel pumps. When running in hot weather or climbing hills, I switch on the electric pump to overcome vapor lock. Otherwise, I use only the mechanical pumps. Works great.
