Clint, that's my experience as well with front loaders. One definite factor in the life of a front loader is a solid floor.

During construction on my house, as a temporary laundry, I moved the washer and dryer into an enclosed cargo trailer with only rubber tires as a foundation. When it started washing the trailer shook, when the spin cycle began everything shook.
The washer, less than two years old, died before we could move it into my new concrete floored laundry.

After my two short-lived front loaders, the current machine is a top loader.
