Assuming the brakes and hand brake are adjusted properly, do the following:
- Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the transmission to see if the problem persists, if so something in the transmission or PTO needs addressed.
- If no problem with transmission, reconnect intermediate shaft, and disconnect propeller shaft from rear of transfer case. If the problem persists, something needs addressed in the TC.
- If no problem with TC, then problem is in the rear end third member.
Probably a bad bearing or bearings.
