When my Dad died in 2009 I took possesion of his 3/8 socket set. I remember him using this set all of my life. When I cleaned the layers of grease off the wratchet and box I discovered they were made by Hinsdale. Researching them on the internet I found they were in business from 1919 till the depression in 1932. They sold their tools thru Sears and Western Auto. I also found the socket sets were made for them by Sherman and Klove. When Hinsdale went out of business Sherman and Klove formed S K Tools. This socket set I assume must of originally been my grandfathers made in the 1920's. I am still using it today. My Dad was in the trucking business and did all his own repairs so it really has gotten a workout over its lifetime of almost 100 years.
