Even the best ones are rusty. I have dealt with about 20 of these, and what I look at is the inner edge of the ring. If it is a knife-edge, rather than being somewhat thick, that is too much.
The one on the right looks workable, the left not so much. They can be blasted, but are weak for road use. Hold out for some from western/southwestern states. I just found a set in an old guy's garage. They do turn up.
