My 1957 and 1958 MoPAR parts lists do not make any mention of power steering in the generator section of the books. The 1959 parts list is the first one that starts to specify particular generators if a truck has power steering. All of the part numbers for these power steering related generators are indicated as being new numbers and never having appeared in any previous parts lists. This would seem to indicate that 1959 was when the switch was made from an engine head mounted pump to a piggy back pump on the rear of a generator.

The only mention at all of a W300M, power steering, and generators, all three together, is that a special newly numbered generator is now specified for the new W300 conventional style Power Wagon introduced the year before. However, it makes special point in telling the reader that this generator is NOT used with the old W300M when equipped with power steering. The 59 parts list still shows the W300M needing an engine head mounted pump with the normal generator as found on non power steering trucks.

The 1960 parts shows a specific generator for the W300M when equipped with power steering, supporting what was found in the steering section of the book - that 1960 was the first year for a pump piggy backed on a generator for a power steering equipped W300M. And as a bonus, it gives a Auto-Lite model number - "GJM-7403-S1" along with the Chrysler number - "2095 326".

That about wraps it up. All mention of power steering on the WM300 disappears starting with the 1960 parts list.

I also looked to see if there was any unique part numbers for the battery tray relocated to the firewall. I could find no changes and could not find any mention of the brackets that attached the tray to the firewall.
