To be honest, I think anyone that thinks they’re going to run a V8 at 3500+ RPM’s for extended periods is going to need to open an account at the engine machine shop :)
There’s lots of highly balanced engines with short stroke, low torque & high horsepower that are certainly capable of running up to triple the rpm our flatheads will run but they aren’t truck motors & they aren’t going to work very well in a power wagon.
I mean I guess if a guy built a 340 & ran around at 5000 rpm you might make 70mph but in order to get an engine to have power at 5000rpm...you’ll have no power at 1500 which is what you want in a Power Wagon.
Me thinks that these are farm trucks. If a guy wants to drive in the city at car speeds he needs to get himself a modern truck.
