hummmm. The head you used was a 1676337-2?

The one on this engine is a -1
Any idea if the combustion chambers are the same between a -1 and the -2 variant?

I’d like to try (at first) to simply install this later head onto my Plymouth P25 block and see if I can get a bit of booth as well.

If ya think about it, looking at the charts out there, the increased HP ratings over the years could have only (for the most part anyway) come from the head design, correct?

I mean the basic block designs remained the same thru the years, right?
combustion chamber design as you say was different then the earlier heads. This, then, had to be the major contributing factor from say a 54 year L-head 230 motor pumping out 110 HP vs a later year 230, say a 59, pumping out 135 HP.

Was there any other mods to the internals of the engines from earlier to later? Rods? Piston design?
What about exhaust and intake manifold designs?

I’m thinking all pretty much remained the same EXCEPT for the head design.
