Machinists will generally tell you to buy a new radiator when rebuilding an old engine as part of a rebuild, but it really isn't necessary. Radiator over time loosen up due to oxidation/corrosion of the soldered areas. In chemical dipping old radiators, they generally loosen up - fins separate from the tubes, buckets leak, or if you're lucky, they clean with no problems. There are products you can buy at auto parts stores that will clean out scale in a gentler way if you're concerned with it. I personally would just back flush it with water and call it good.
I have two radiators for my truck and over the years when one would leak, I would switch to the other until it leaked and back again. Radiator will self seal due to rust and corrosion.
Since adding the product at the link, I have not had to switch out the radiator and it has been about 7 years now. The product neutralizes the corrosive effect of water, I'm sold on the product. It might be something for you to consider as well.
