Make sure you replace or at very least do a thorough check of the water distribution tube in the engine block. The early radiators are a no/low pressure type, so be careful if pressure testing, many otherwise good old radiators have turned to trash by being pressure tested at modern pressures. If you need to replace the core you may be able to reuse the original tanks and remanufacture it for a pressure type cap.
