I’m asking because it’s known that some suppliers use a “modified” , but very similar u-joint. For another application (50’s Cadillac I’m thinking?)
Anyway. To fit even slightly, They need to grind away a bit of the cast/forged end cap
To fit the dodge flanges.
Not sure if they found a better way to modify since me buying mine a few years ago, but back then they took the cap to a grinding wheel and roughly took out some material.
I had to modify the ones sent even further, yet they still don’t fit so well, requiring even more modification to the clamps holding it down.
Not a good solution.
Unless they changed the rough grinding operation to a more refined machining operation, the fit will not be very good.
NOS seems like the best fit.
