I've read those. The only thing that lasted over time was paint, and I'd rather not use paint on nice oak. It's a bit of a sin.
I've been considering boiled linseed oil and turpentine. We used to apply that with a garden sprayer to old cabins in the mountains. I guess I could spray the underside of the bed and then power wash the chassis before it hardened up. The bottom might not need much maintenance since it doesn't get much sun exposure....
