There two images, click right for next. First is bottom of frame hopefully yours looks like that. 2nd image is the end of the gasket. Left outside, right against cab.

If you're trying to slide the gasket in it's channel, you'll stretch it and that may be your problem, gasket will pull out of channel groove. The gasket should be installed using a putty knife to compress the inner side into the channel. No need for sealer except to join the ends if it's not one formed gasket.
