I would try one more thing befor pulling the tank. Disconnect the fuel line at both ends then plug one end and then use a small hand vacuum pump with a gauge on the other end. Pump and get a good vacuum and watch and see if the line can hold it. If not then you have a leaky fuel line and your drawing air.
