Sat. morning update: with the suspect bolt in the clutch pedal mounting plate. When I place the trans in gear and depress the cluth to the bolt, no go, no rotation can be gotten from the outgoing drive shaft on the transmission. With the suspect bolt removed, success, the outgoing driveshaft rotates freely! Amazing how just the 1/4" makes a difference. So my plan is to mayby grind down the head of the bolt, leaving just enough to install it, or just leaving it out like the previous owner(s) have done.
Vaughn, I think you're right, a slight spacer between the trans and clutch housing would be helpful.
Going to "play" with it some more in the coming week and see if I can "tweak it" some more for easier adjustment.
