The ancient Diamond T may not even have a body number, and if it does it will most likely be in an obscure position not subject to easy verification. OTOH, the late model Cummins chassis will have a modern 17 digit VIN number chassis that, if on a data plate or number strip, can be transferred to the new vehicle for use as its VIN. And, it might even still be in the state's data base if it had been used, or the chassis donor registered, in the past 10 years. I'd go with the chassis VIN for these reasons.
