A will is great. But the real issues to prepare for are when you are incapacitated, as in you are still alive but can't care for yourself. You need a durable power of attorney (POA) or a medical POA and financial POA. I am dealing with a situation right now where one was not present. It is very serious, and there aren't a lot of options if you don't get this done for yourself. If you trust that attorney, ask him about this. I hate to sound like an insurance commercial, but we are going to be spending tens of thousands of $ we shouldn't have to because this wasn't done.
