I think maybe Terry's asking about whether or not the 4.89 diff uses the double cup/double cone bearing setup. The answer is yes. So if you re-gear using the original diff, you still need the double bearing setup. As for what to do when you re-gear or rebuild your existing differentials with the existing gear ratios, you have find one of these bearings. I think the folks who rebuild these professionally have stockpiles of these. The Power Wagon parts vendors may have some, but I'm not sure. They won't be cheap, that's for sure.
