Yes, later literature shows the Truck Master as being the "factory approved" heater after the firewall change. But I am sure many snuck in before that change. It was probably the experience gained from the challenge of mating that new heater to the old firewall that prompted the decision to move the overflow tank mounting location and to change the firewall to accommodate.
Makes me wonder how many of the options started out early on as being mainly dealer installed and gradually over time evolved to being more routinely factory installed. This seems to be apparent with turn signals at least.
