The 1961-1968 axles have a different width backing plate to backing plate depending on the original options. AAA went through this once. I've forgotten the measurements. I think there were at least two and possibly three widths for the W300 rear axle. One for a pickup, one for a dually, maybe one for a cab chassis single wheel? Then of course there's the oddball 9' utilize dually.

That all changes again in 1969.
