The problem is finding 11.00 X 16 tires.
Running 4.89 gears depends on the terrain your driving and the engine you have. I have no issues running 4.89s with a V8. On some steeper hills around here. My PW with the 230ci with 5.83 gears and 9.00 X 16 Michelin XL tires requires me to down shift and loose speed on those same hills. 4.89 gears might help as I could keep a little more speed in 3rd gear up some of those hills. It would be worse in4th gear but I have to down shift the PW anyway.
