If you replace a section of frame you could have some steel bent with a little radius that matches your frame.

Personally I would butt weld the piece in and grind it flat. i would then fish plate the ends of the section you fit in place. Fish plate on the inside of the frame. I have done a few this way and have gone as far as having a crossmember bridge a butt weld on a frame that I back halfed.
