I used a mix of solutions on my truck.

On the underside of the cab I used Al's Liner which is a mulit-part spray on liner. Messy but very durable for a DIY.

I used Lizard skin under the hood, both sound and heat. I used the leftover sound product on some of the transmission hump and under the bed. It's not as durable as a coating but is easier to apply.

The underside of the fenders and inside of the bed I had done with a professional spray in lining. It's not Line-X but the installer was highly recommended and the material is essentially the same. The guy left Line-X when they started compromising quality for speed.

Some of the roll-on store products are pretty good. I used Herculiner roll-on for the skid plate I built for my fuel tank and the spray version in smaller areas that were harder to get to or on smaller items like the gas peddle.

Does it help sound, yes it keeps the metal from sounding like a metal drum, but doesn't do much for actually making ouside noise quieter. For that you want padding, like carpet or foam. I used a foam backed rubber matting on the floors and a similar product on the cab walls, though nothing does too much to quiet a 4BT.

I would not Line-X or similarly coat the inside of the cab floors, the stuff is really tough to clean because of the roughness of the coating. Paint it well and put something down over that.
