I also did the board through the cab trick once or twice though most of the time I used my 2-post lift and just put the arms either under the cab. When I was working on the cab itself I built a bracket that bolted to the door hinge at front and the latch holes at back and attached to a bar that ran through the cab to build a basic rotisserie.

The cab is designed to be able to move relative to the frame, but as others stated the driver's side needs to stay rigid to support the controls, so it's bolted rigidly while the other three provide room for the frame to flex separately from the cab.
