Your truck is over 50 years old. Everything that can rust has rusted. If you want to replace the springs and bushings, which is the best way to go about this, soak them with a good penetrating oil, get the right size drifts and a small sledge hammer, your torch, a hydraulic jack or two, and whatever else you need, and go at it. Doing the job will be easier when you have them out and on the bench.
