I believe that lubricated springs had a groove cut down the middle of the leaf. It is a detail not seen any more. I'm going to re spring my command car with all new springs soon. Vintage has new sets available. I'm waiting on feedback. All new pins and related parts. My fronts are flat and the rears are stiff.
