To piggyback on what Vaughn was saying - If all else fails remove the bolts that hold the wheel cylinder in place. Then remove the two nuts at the bottom of the backing plate that hold the anchor bolts in place. The shoes, anchor bolts, and wheel cylinder will slide out with the drum. You will bend the spring tabs that hold the shoes against the backing plate, but at least you will be able to get the drum and hub off.
