Here they are in the same order, 218 on top. To my eyes, the combustion chambers on the top head appear symmetrical. The chambers on the 230 heads are clearly asymmetrical, almost like a footprint. I cant tell the depth from the photo's, but we can check them. I think the bottom head is an early low-compression head based on the casting number but I'm not sure. Also, the 230 heads both have the extra hump with the extra water passage from the water pump area.

Any ideas on compression? Has anyone plugged the extra hole in one of these heads and used an a non-hump block? How did you plug it? How has it held up? Other thoughts?
