Jerry, I put a NP 205 which has the pto on it in my PW. When I winch I put the transfercase in neutral, pick a gear, usually 4th to run a hydraulic pump that powers my hydraulic winch. I also have a 4 wheel mico lock which locks all 4 wheels so I can winch from the front of the truck by using a small forward and back lever on the front bumper that controls the winch and the truck won't move. Works slick, I can also control the winch inside the cab with the stock lever if I want, but I really like being right at the winch, I can see whats happening better. Of course if the cable ever broke I'd get sliced up like a whip, but I've maxed out the pulling power of the hydraulic motor before with it and the 7/16 cable was no where near breaking so I'm not so worried about getting hurt.
