I wish everyone would enter every truck they find into the registry regardless of condition. It would be great to have a record of all the trucks we can find and pictures of their condition and options.
Since I helped set up the registry I think I can speak for Phil and I and say that our intention was to include any truck in any condition. It is neat to see how many are still out there and the entries can be a great resource for someone trying to restore or authenticate their truck.
I've spent many an hour grinding away at frames to find the frame number so I could enter a truck in the registry. I am still frustrated by the PWs I took pictures of, but failed to document the serial number.
I didn't used to make the effort to document truck serial numbers 15 years ago. Back then a picture of the truck was documenting it. Getting the numbers back then was a lot harder as all I had was a point and shoot 35mm camera. Any documentation of numbers had to be done by hand on a pad of paper. Now I just snap a quick picture and I'm done.
