Was up, then took a big hit today.

After talking to Don, I was eager to try removing the residual pressure screen in the MC. So I dod just that, put it al back together and drove it.

Well I made it a few blocks and the truck stalled sitting at a stop light. GOt some good people to help push me outta the intersection. As we were pushing, I popped the clutch and started it back up. So I drove some more, and the death shimmy is still there, but its at a higher speed now. I stopped and felt the discs as Don suggested and they were very hot, like not hot enough I couldn't touch them but very hot, more than I think they shoulda been.

So I started the drive back him, and as I turned the corner and could see my house, the truck stalled again. So I got a few neighbors to help push me to my driveway, not enough to get a push start again, like before.

I looked at the fuel filter first, as it felt like it was starving for fuel. I have a cheap plastic filter on it, on purpose. Its full of sediment. Took it off, and its actually RUST. Tapped it on the ground and its a fine powder rust. So I blew the line back into the tank, then disconnected the line from the fuel pump and blew that out, nothing big, but some rusty gas came out of that line. So I got a new filter, swapped it out and tried to start it again. Nothing.

Opened the hood, air filter off, and made sure it was getting fuel, yep it was, so then I went to spark.

First look at the coil, notice a nut missing holding one of the wires onto the coil. Put another nut on it and she started right up!!

So I went back to the fuel tank, pulled the plug outta the bottom, and there was quite a bit of debris coming out. So I completely drained the tank, and took it outta the truck. Gotta get it treated to prevent this from happening again.

So until I get the tank treated and back in, the death shimmy will hafta wait. When I get it back in, the first trip is gonnna be to the alignment shop and make sure everything is correct.

Oh and Jerry, that brake bleeder was pretty cool. Got a 20 buck one from Harbor Freight. Worked good. I think. It seemed like the air never stopped coming out, but I think I kept opening the bleeder too much and it was sucking around the screw. But for driving it, the brakes seemed to work pretty good.

So, now to get the tank treated, myself or professionally. Its a full size tank, with at least one baffle, I think two. So I dunno how good of a job I could do myself, guess Ill find out. Beats 300 bucks professionally
