checking to see that there is no pressure. Even a few pounds of residual pressure can cause a problem if you're dealing with a lot of surface area. Always double check.
I think of the guy who didn't totally release the air pressure on an earth mover tire before releasing the bolts holding the wheel together. That was the last mistake he made.
