Hello,

Trying to keep my disc brake project moving forward. Today I mounted the rotor and went to install the inner bearing/seal/lock ring combo. Placed the freshly packed bearing in the race, pounded the seal down til it bottomed out and problem...

There is a gap between the top of the bearing and the seal. Furthermore, there is a gap between the lock ring and the top of the seal. I can lift the bearing up at least a 1/4" out of the race before it touches the seal. Something is not right.

I know the bearing/race combo are correct (BR28682/BR28622) and I used the seal that is listed (NAPA NOS28116). However, this seal is a little different from the original, a hair thinner, and shaped differently? Anyone confirm the number on the seal for me? Also, it may be possible that I have it installed backwards? It went in tight, so I'm sure I'll ruin it pulling it out.

I'll post some other pics of the two seals side by side...

Any help would be appreciated.

Clark
