I would like to discuss motor oils, past and present. This has probably been discussed before, but I guess I missed it. In years passed, your options for oil was limited. For most light trucks and cars, you simply used 30w. I now own a PG with a 315 poly. I'm wondering if full syn is the way to go, but can't find it in a 30w. It's all multi- vis now. I purchased Mobile 1, 10-30 but am waiting to see your comments before using it. So, is it better for the longevity of my motor to use multi- vis, full syn motor oil or stick to old school 30w detergent oil, or maybe something else? I live in Washington state where the temps are pretty moderate year around, and the motor has under 60,000 miles. What say you all?
