Back in 1975 I decided I knew everything and went to remove the steering wheel on my 1963 Ch#@! Pickup. Instead of backing the nut off a bit, I just took the durn thing off. It had to come off anyway right? The first few trys to loosen the wheel did not work. I put one mighty Herculean pull on the wheel and it came free. Unfortunatly, when it came free without a nut to hold it back, I hit myself in the head and nearly blacked out. I thought I had also broke my nose, but after every thing came back into focus, I realized that I have a lot to learn yet about old iron. Be carefull out there.
