Thanks for all the kind and supportive thoughts, guys. I appreciate it. He made it up the steps yesterday and walked into the house unassisted. He was pretty darn proud. He's now accomplished four of his 7 goals we had set, all of them about a month or more early.

We reset the PW ride goal to Oct. he said yesterday that should be easy LOL!

I could provide lots of advice after dealing with Medicare, Medicaid, varying state systems and attorneys, but the #1 I'll share now is that if your parents are aging (or you or spouse) even if they are in good health, get a full power of attorney, will, and living will. Without these and if something happens, your path through this maze will be unbearable. Even with them it is unbelievably difficult.

I am lucky I have a good lawyer friend who told me to get these things last year when dad was visiting. When dad was close to dying a few times this year, doctors and nurses argued with me to not abide by Dad's wishes to not be put on life support, even with the living will. I had one nurse tell me that they would do it even against my Dad's wishes. I took that issue to the top of the food chain and raised hell.
