I don't think pulling 6-7000 lb is anything that a Getrag wont handle.
Once a getreg is rebuilt with the proper preload and overfilled one quart they are ready to handle the 16000 cgvw that they were designed for.Slow deliberate shifts and an injection pump that hasn't been scwrewed with also helps them live long lives.
Pulling grades at 65 (in overdrive) loaded heavy (this will require pump mods in a first gen, at the least)will kill
a G360 or nv4500 over time.
If you are willing to take the hills at 55 in 4th ,pulling your camper , a stock 5 speed first gen will do fine.
