that's what i used to do put it neutral and line em all up, even the front, until as you day you go into low and then you have to do it all over again once you go back to high, made a big difference in my truck
one other thing that may contribute is that the ujs are bigger on the jack shaft tahn the rest, I always wanted to see if i could put the same size big yokes all the way around but don't know if they would be interchangable to the tc outputs front and rear and the diffs.
guess you could always make em
when I bought my 540 the guys I bought it from machined off the old uj coupling and welded my ff jackshaft yoke on to it.
