I think if they are true and balanced, there wouldn't be a lot of difference to vibration. Drive-shaft dimensions are usually calculated to withstand the torsional load of the application with a calculated safety margin - if you change to a higher power unit or different gears, different tires, then the original calculation becomes compromised. Put higher gears, bigger tires and a lot more horsepower and you may need to increase the strength of the drive train.
