Another possibility: overfilled system, or residual pressure valve acting as check valve. With a little bit of drag on a shoe, this would heat up the brake fluid, expanding it, it can't go back into MC due to one of the above, so the shoe gets pressed on more, along with other(s). As the brakes are pressed on harder, more heat, more expansion, they get pressed on harder, etc. This leads to complete lockup of the affected wheels. After things cool off, everything's fine again.

The old systems 'allow' you to overfill them, the newer ones with the rubber 'accordian' in the MC prevent overfilling to the point of malfunction, they just allow you to make a mess when the fluid spills over as you put the top back on.

I had it happen(not in a Dodge), but it did it only to one wheel, so it was obvious as it started to pull to the right(right pass wheel had the problem).
