I've had a couple of Series Land Rovers. Problems with the frame are due to its solid boxed design. The boxed frame is pretty stout, but it can trap mud and moisture inside the frame, so the frame can rot from the inside out. Buy one from an arid climate and it will last a long time. The 4-cylinder gas engines are under powered, but you wouldn't want to go real fast in a Series Land Rover anyway. Sorta like going fast in a WM300. However, the engines will keep on chugging long after you've gone home.
Cool trucks, but require wrenching, money, and time - not much different than an old Power Wagon.
