as far as pitting oges it will not be a problem unless the pits are in the area where the rubber cup actually rides. many time s the pitting is farther out near the end of the piston where condensation builds. that will not cause leaking. new is usually better if yours are just too farr gone but one thing to save if you hvae them is the steel pistons. most pistons are aluminum and the dis-similar metals cause corrosion. when I run across the steel pistons I clean them up and re use them even in new Whl cyls. they last much longer that way.
