My son has been working on a 48 Ford truck F1. We are in the process of renewing the brake system and other stuff. {engine is out at Jasper]. The truck will be all stock when done. As he is taking stuff apart he cant beleve how easy the nuts, bolts and lines come apart. Not much realy hard rust. Today a newer truck comes in for a inspection and the brake line to the rear wheels is rusted to the point it leaks. Every thing he had to take apart, had to use the torch to free the fasteners up. He said I thought newer stuff would be better than Old. I said you just learned a lesson today. Also the parts he is taking off the Ford has some kind of Name or number on it. I said it just goes to show you back then American Companys took pride with there work and wanted people to know were it came from. Today there is one name on the junk CHINA!!!!!!! We are having a good time with the Ford. It will be really nice to take it for a drive. I wish my WC steered as nice as that Ford does. I want to thank all the good folks that at one time worked America and made good stuff. Thanks. The Dodge Boys.
