the 4 pronger is only on electronic distributer vehicles. It's actualy 2 resisters in one- one for starting/while cranking- the other is used when running.
The most common problem I've seen is that it won't start when cranking but will fire just as you release the key, as you give up cause you think it wont start.Sound familiar, anyone? I guess I'll have to add another example of bad resister to my knowledge.
