Screw compressors are really slick, but I've never heard of an oil-free one. I don't see how that could be since the screw parts rub right against each other and have to be lubed with something. The one that I'm most familiar with is a 40 HP unit that has a big oil separator downstream of the screw unit. It does a good job of getting all the oil out of the air, but I'm sure there's still a trace that gets through. I've never had to add oil to it, so there can't be much that escapes.
