They mostly use them for medical/dental purposes etc. They're still ultra reliable compared to a reciprocating compressor but they cost a fortune new.
That's the beauty of Ebay...often you see expensive stuff going cheap, like this unit below, because for the average guy it's just not useful or often folks won't even know what it is.
