I'm curious as to what's available for decent currently available 318 intake manifolds. I'm not looking for high power.

Engine currently has a 2 bbl on it. I'd like to see about going to a 4 bbl so that I can get higher flow velocity through the primaries, which usually increases fuel economy a bit and makes high rpm no load running smoother.

Do the aftermarket aluminum manifolds block the heat riser? In fact, is there a practical way to block the heat riser exhaust ports coming from the heads? Truck will be used in hot climate and the less cooking the carb gets, the less chance for vapor lock.
