I'm assuming you have an LA 318 and not an A. The LA came out in '67 on American and '68 on Canadian engines.

You want to go with a dual plane intake as it will give more power low in the torque range. Single plane intakes are really only useful on a race track. It's been so long since I fiddled with a SB engine on intakes, I can't remember, but the Mopar Performance valley pan for big blocks comes with block off plates for the cross over. I would assume the SB has the same on it's intake gaskets.

If you plan to block it off, be sure your manifold heat riser valve is operating properly or you'll lose a lot of power. It can also cause your exhaust manifold to glow cherry red.
